Ibo Gülsen
Founder and Creative Lead
Mr. Ibo Gülsen founded IGMPR, Imagineering Horti Culture in 2012. His team’s immense experience and love for flowers is unparalleled and their floriculture theme park and attractions have enchanted audiences around the world. He is also the Director for China of Dutch Flower Company Jansen’s Overseas: ensuring full control of quality and blossom moments when designing flower shows.
He is a board member of the World Tulip Society and the International Garden Tourism Network, a global network of the top (tulip) parks, gardens, shows and events. He also chaired the 2019 World Tulip Summit in which over leading 25 tulip parks and festivals from across the globe participated.
He has created an unique approach to developing floral attractions. They have to be immersive, instagrammable and tell a story. His research into the culture of flowers has connected him with many fascinating places, persons and plants across the globe, which he aims to express in his designs and exhibitions.
Mr. Gülsen earned his master’s degree in Business and General Economics from VU University in Amsterdam and completed his campus research at the University of California at Berkeley. He has held international positions at corporations including KPN (telecom), Wolters Kluwer (professional publishing) and Bird & Bird LLP (legal services). From 2006-2014 he served as member of the municipal council (including party chairman) of the city of The Hague for political party VVD, primarily focusing on urban and economic development, tourism, transport and safety & security.
Mr. Gülsen received the official Jiangsu Friendship Award in 2016 for his contribution to the Dafeng Holland Flower Park.
Mr. Gülsen lives in The Hague, The Netherlands with his wife and three children. He travels to meet his clients and partners across the globe on a monthly basis.
